Reviewing Cultural Products

The monography Reviewing culture online, published in 2022 by Palgrave Macmillan, combines research from the past years discussing how ordinary cultural citizens and consumers are reviewing cultural products online, becoming user reviewers. Based on empirical analysis of user content on popular platforms, the book conceptually outlines reviewing as a form of cultural consumption and presumption/produsage.

Best Practices in Journalism

The textbook Hyvä journalismi [Good journalism], published by Kansanvalistusseura, outlines the very basics of journalistic practice. The book, written in Finnish, is being used as course literature in journalism education programmes in Finland. It is available at university and regional libraries, as well as in regular online bookstores. If you are experiencing difficulties in accessing the book, I still have a couple of print copies left – please mail me for inquiries: maarit.jaakkola@gu.se.

Finnish Language and Literature Textbook

Jukola is a new textbook series in Finnish language and literature for the upper secondary school in Finland, published by the major educational publishing house SanomaPro. The book series conforms to the new national curriculum 2016. I had the honour to be part of the teacher's team, contributing to contents and assignments on media and communication.
